Morphogenetic divergence in Sweet Pepper (Capsicum annum L.) Genotypes

Sweet pepper is one of the most important vegetable crops and its demand increasing day by in Bangladesh indicating need for varietal improvement program. Eleven sweet genotypes from native exotic sources were characterized twenty-five morphological traits using vegetative reproductive appearances at Institute Nuclear Agriculture, Mymensingh, November 2021 to March 2022. Noticeable variation was observed among qualitative (25) studied. Nineteen (19) showed undisputable variation. Higher number (9 genotypes) light purple, purple dark color node indicated high amount anthocyanin content. Leaf shape used as identifier stage three types leaves found with green (6 that highly correlates yield. In case flower, 100% white corolla indicates higher fruit set. Entire exhibited or more exclusive characters especially which could be breeding materials. CKN-1 CKN-8 had highest yield per plant (367.6 362.04 grams, respectively), making them potentially good cultivation, whereas height, number, weight, length, diameter varied selected genotypes.
